ObtAIn Fitness is committed to digital accessibility. We believe health and fitness should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. We are actively working to ensure our website and mobile app meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
1. Our Commitment
ObtAIn Fitness is dedicated to providing an inclusive experience for all users, including those with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. We recognize that accessibility is not a one-time project but an ongoing commitment that evolves with technology and user needs.
2. Standards We Follow
We design and test our digital products against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We also comply with applicable accessibility laws, including:
- Accessible Canada Act (ACA) — Federal accessibility requirements for Canadian organizations.
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) — Ontario-specific digital accessibility standards.
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — For US users.
- European Accessibility Act (EAA) — For EU users (effective June 2025).
3. What We Have Implemented
🖥️ Visual Accessibility
- Text contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA standards (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- All images include descriptive alt text for screen readers.
- Focus indicators are visible and consistent across all interactive elements.
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Dark mode is available and optimized for light sensitivity.
- No content relies solely on color to convey meaning (icons, labels, and patterns are used alongside color).
⌨️ Keyboard & Motor Accessibility
- All features are fully navigable using only a keyboard (Tab, Enter, Space, Arrow keys).
- Skip navigation links allow users to bypass repetitive content.
- No time limits on critical interactions unless essential (e.g., security timeouts).
- Form fields have clear labels and error messages.
- Touch targets in the mobile app are at least 44×44 pixels.
🔊 Auditory & Screen Reader Accessibility
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy (H1 → H6).
- ARIA labels and roles used where native semantics are insufficient.
- Screen reader announcements for dynamic content updates (toast notifications, live regions).
- Video content includes captions and transcripts where applicable.
- Audio content includes written transcripts.
🧠 Cognitive Accessibility
- Clear, plain language used throughout the interface.
- Consistent navigation and layout across pages.
- Error prevention: confirmation dialogs for destructive actions (account deletion, cancellation).
- Progress indicators for multi-step processes (checkout, onboarding).
- Reduced motion option available for users sensitive to animations.
4. Known Limitations
We are continuously improving. As of August 2026, we are aware of the following areas requiring attention:
- Complex data visualizations (charts, graphs) in the app may not yet have full screen-reader descriptions. We are adding detailed alt text and data tables as alternatives.
- Third-party integrations (embedded videos, social media widgets) may not fully meet our accessibility standards. We are working with partners to improve this.
- AI-generated video content may not always include audio descriptions. We are working to add descriptive audio tracks.
We aim to resolve these limitations within the next two quarterly releases.
5. Testing & Validation
We validate accessibility through:
- Automated testing using axe, Lighthouse, and WAVE tools during development.
- Manual keyboard-only navigation testing on every major release.
- Screen reader testing with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
- Color contrast audits using WebAIM Contrast Checker.
- User testing with individuals who use assistive technologies.
6. Assistive Technologies We Support
Our services are designed to work with:
- Screen readers: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (iOS/macOS), TalkBack (Android)
- Voice control: Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa (for basic commands)
- Switch control: iOS Switch Control, Android Switch Access
- Magnification: OS-level zoom, browser zoom, screen magnifiers
- High contrast modes: OS-level high contrast, inverted colors
7. Feedback & Reporting
We welcome feedback on accessibility. If you encounter barriers or have suggestions:
- Email: accessibility@obtain.tech
- Subject line: "Accessibility Feedback"
- Include: The page/feature, the assistive technology you are using, and a description of the barrier.
We aim to respond to all accessibility feedback within 5 business days and resolve confirmed issues within 30 days.
8. Alternative Formats
If you need any of our legal documents (Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, etc.) in an alternative format (large print, Braille, audio, or simplified language), contact accessibility@obtain.tech and we will provide it within 10 business days at no charge.
9. Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is a journey, not a destination. We commit to:
- Quarterly accessibility audits of our website and app.
- Training all new team members on accessibility best practices.
- Prioritizing accessibility bugs in our development roadmap.
- Staying current with evolving WCAG standards and legal requirements.
